Primary Function

The Global Senior Process Engineer is responsible for developing and supporting Enamel Coating core processes, assuring product quality through repeatable and sustainable manufacturing processes, and implementing improvements to support Manufacturing and Quality goals.

Role Specific Responsibilities

  • Establish relationships and understanding of site challenges, and work with site local plant experts, quality personnel, and specific manufacturing teams to help develop strategies for core processes ensuring reliability through robust plans that include process, equipment, training, materials, and staffing plans
  • Facilitate multi-site collaborative efforts in sharing ideas and leveraging learnings to accelerate core process productivity improvements
  • Facilitate consensus decision making in support of identifying and creating standard work instructions, test methods, machine set-up protocols, and data collection requirements (common to multiple sites)
  • Provide advisory review and guidance on suggested core process related changes (by site) including capital related projects
  • Investigate technologies for alignment and assure core process strategies are implemented to help advance manufacturing capabilities
  • Conduct core process equipment and process audits (functionality & integrity) including raising awareness to safety related concerns
  • Monitor performance of core processes to ensure process stability with focus on continuous improvement, compliance management, and sustainability
  • Provide assistance in trouble shooting and problem solving of related core process challenges (including those impacting product quality, process performance & productivity)
  • Engage with sourcing commodity resources and suppliers in support of global procurement strategies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Enamel Coating Engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience with manufacturing related processes
  • Enamel Coating process knowledge & experience required
  • Highly motivated, self-starter who can prioritize based on overall goals and objectives
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work independently and as a leader/member of a team in meeting defined goals & objectives, and deadlines
  • Good management skills and proven ability to influence without authority
  • Able to plan, develop, and execute tactical and strategic manufacturing initiatives, and must carry out duties with the utmost integrity
  • Able to facilitate and foster good cross-functional, multi-site relationships that promote cooperation and consensus between global team members, surmounting language / communication and cultural barriers
  • Demonstrated problem solving experience using root cause analysis with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally upwards of 50% of the time as business needs dictate
  • Proficiency with computers and programs, specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedural manuals, and product and equipment drawings and schematics.
