Primary Function

The senior application engineer will support legacy web applications that include, but are not limited to, plant floor production monitoring, downtime and equipment repair entry, SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) reports, and various CRUD (create, read, update, and delete) web applications spanning multiple functional departments within the facility. This role will be key in the design, development, and implementation of future software applications, with input on everything from network and server architecture, database design and complex queries, and coding and deployment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full lifecycle of software development processes, including requirements gathering, design, data storage, back-end and front-end coding, debugging, maintenance, and deployment.
  • Work closely with management and engineering teams to design, develop, and implement intuitive custom applications to improve operational visibility, improve loss control, and increase productivity.
  • Create and execute complex SQL queries and stored procedures to produce SSRS reports and live, web-based production dashboards.
  • Create, maintain, and enhance SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) ETL processes to migrate large datasets from various data sources to SQL Server.
  • Develop intuitive web-based dashboards using React, .NET Web API, and SQL Server.
  • Maintain and improve database performance though the appropriate application of data filters, indexes, and query tuning.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 – 5 years with the following:
    • Microsoft .NET ASP MVC, Web API, and/or similar within the .NET stack
    • React/Angular and/or a similar Javascript framework
    • SQL Server, SQL Server Integration Services, and SQL Server Reporting Services
    • Experience with integration and deployment of APIs, services, scripts, and web applications
    • Solid communication, presentation and organizational skills
  • Nice to Have:
    • Rockwell Historian and/or similar PLC data aggregation tools
    • Experience developing software for a manufacturing facility
    • PLC (programmable logic controller) integration with data services (API, database, etc.)
