Primary Function
Will plan, implement, and maintain the activities of development and application of all engineering and quality systems to support the quality standards and required capacity of the factory. In addition, the manufacturing and quality manager is the sole manager responsible for both functions and will lead a team of two Quality inspectors.
Responsibilities
MANUFACTURING: Prepare analysis & recommendations of work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, & design layout for maximum efficiency.
Timely & accurate identification and implementation of new equipment, tooling, and process techniques in accordance with the manufacturing strategic plan.
Develop & execute capital cost justification for new tooling, equipment, cost savings initiatives, etc.
Revise and document manufacturing equipment parameters & processes as required to define expectations for operators, leads, and Maintenance.
Work closely with maintenance personnel in troubleshooting problems as needed and equipment installation and set-up, including parameter specifications or changes.
QUALITY: Develop and apply defined procedures, analyses, and tools to measure, identify, and correct quality issues and minimize product variability.
Develop and implement internal quality controls and testing to meet quality procedures and norms; May perform quality analysis on a specific subset of products or processes.
Develop root cause analysis to determine the cause of quality problems and equipment safety; implement corrective and preventative actions.
Development and implementation of Process and Design FMEAs and Process Control Plans.
Responsible for maintenance of the ISO 9001 system.
ENVIRONMENTAL: Responsible for all Environmental compliance activities.
Interface with required local entities as a representative of the company regarding local energy / water activities.
Maintain waste / energy reporting requirements, permitting and all other Environmental related matters.
Qualifications
Mechanical Engineering Bachelor’s Degree.
Minimum of 5 years of related Manufacturing Engineering work experience.
Experience with welding, plc programming, troubleshooting hydraulic presses, metal forming and powder paint processing preferred.
Must be a strong leader, team oriented, proactive, and robust time management skills.
Factory background required, may consider industry experience.
Must have experience with lean manufacturing, six sigma, and continuous improvement methodology.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Solid works, MS Project, and MS office software, experience with SAP preferred.
Candidate must be a self-starter and self-motivated, with strong interpersonal skills and writing ability.
Demonstrated ability to lead a team of technicians.
