Primary Function

The Accountant will perform a variety of cost-focused activities in the preparation, examination, and interpretation of accounting and financial records, reports, and statements. The incumbent will be involved with the general ledger, budget, month end closing, and other cost/financial analyses compliant with all Company and GAAP policies.  


  • Assemble plant expense analysis and report updates to the staff on a regular basis.   Coordinate the Accounts Payable function for all Plant operations.
  • Prepare specific monthly journal entries.
  • Analyze and reconcile any discrepancies within the general accounting functions.  Will report on utility use, expenditures, etc. and provide analysis for senior management review.
  • Settle and close production orders, investigate production variances.
  • Provide research assistance as required and respond to inquiries and requests from internal sources.
  • Assist as backup for daily invoicing, and sales updating.   Provide payroll approval.
  • Observe all procedures and policies in accordance with GAAP, company policy, and federal/state regulations.  
  • Reconcile all expenses to budget.
  • Provide internal financial audits and cycle count audits – issue reporting. 
  • Prepare trial balance analysis.
  • Assist with annual cost roll out for standard costing system.

  • A bachelor's degree is required; accounting or another related discipline is preferred
  • A minimum of 1 year of related work experience is preferred
  • Work experience in accounting is preferred
  • Familiarity with all applicable principles, regulations, and laws including GAAP
  • Ability to read and interpret documents and data
  • Strong communication skills both orally and written
  • Proficiency with MS Excel and Word and accounting software
  • Prior work experience using SAP is a plus
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information and documents
