Shipping Supervisor

Primary Function

Plans, organizes and monitors the receiving, storage and distribution of all items received from suppliers ensuring a smooth and consistent operation so that supplies and equipment are delivered to the proper departments in an effective and efficient manner according to departmental procedures.  The supervisor will also oversee all shipping activities in accordance with company and departmental priorities.

Responsibilities

•    Comply with Safety standards and empower and hold management team accountable to achieve goals.
•    Plan, direct and control freight operations in line with our intent of always servicing the customer first.
•    Attain specific operational goals for performance such as, missed pickups, on-time delivery, EDI transmission
•    Establish and maintain excellent inventory accuracy
•    Coordinate and/or delegate the work of local operations in the areas of: Pickup and Delivery operations, dock operations, claims prevention, determination of amount of manpower hours and staffing, equipment maintenance.
•    Audit and report metrics on process compliance
 

Role Specific Responsibilities

Qualifications

•    Associate Degree preferred
•    3+ years of related experience in shipping, inventory control, and receiving.
•    2+ years of supervisory/leadership experience.
•    LTL shipping
•    Parcel shipping
•    Experience using retail shipping portals

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:  (Preferred qualifications)
•    Experience shipping to Amazon
•    SAP experience
