Primary Function

Reporting to our Production Manager, the Production Supervisor will be responsible for the efficient operation and direction of a union group of up to 45 employees (including area coordinators and leads) in our Water Heater tank fabrication department.  Our Production Supervisor is responsible for meeting daily production schedules, verifying correct manufacturing processes are adhered to, and working with operators, engineers, and quality personnel to identify and resolve potential customer issues.


  • Interpret and enforce company policies and procedures to Leaders and Operators.
  • Responsible for establishing a safe workplace through employee involvement.
  • Responsible for completing employee time, absenteeism, and vacation paperwork or systems in a timely manner.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems, or assist Leaders in solving work problems.
  • Inspect products to verify conformance to specifications; analyze all nonconformances for root cause and implement corrective procedures.
  • Confer with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  • Responsible for timely completion of all manufacturing production schedules including subassemblies, service requirements, and other department requests.
  • Responsible for product quality in accordance with established Company guidelines and / or specifications.
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Responsible for following through on maintenance issues including proper care and cleaning of the equipment, following all safety policies and guidelines and maintaining the area’s organization and housekeeping.

Basic Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or currently enrolled in an Associate's Degree program required
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment required
  • Valid driver’s license and forklift driver’s license required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  • Leadership skills, understanding of basic principles of human resources and manufacturing process, ability to make decisions, and the willingness to follow policies and procedures. 
  • Experience in a union environment preferred
