Primary Function
Plan and direct manufacturing cost accounting activities to ensure the integrity and presentation of cost for manufactured products. Apply principles of cost accounting to conduct studies that provide detailed cost information not supplied by general accounting systems and perform essential duties.
Responsibilities
- Plan, study and collect data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, labor, and overhead are appropriately assigned.
- Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided, to determine effects on costs.
- Assist with coordination and successful completion of annual cost roll.
- Assist with developing annual overhead standards and periodically reviewing those standards.
- Assist with monthly and yearly closing of manufacturing and related financial reports.
- As needed work with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) process responsibilities.
- Reconcile and research variances in inventory arising from corrections in BOM content, cycle counting, physical inventories and errors.
- Responsible for developing, documenting, and maintaining policies and procedures for areas of responsibility.
- Provide management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services for new and existing products.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- 3+ years related work experience
Additional Qualifications:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Experience with SAP is preferred
- Excellent communication skills, both orally and written, to explain difficult and financial concepts
- Strong organization and time management skills with the ability to adapt work priorities
- Ability to read and interpret financial data
- Good working knowledge of financial modules of corporate computer software systems
- Ability to work independently and lead a team to achieve performance goals
