Primary Function
Directs export sales of Lochinvar Corporation by performing the following duties personally or through manufacturer’s representatives and customer service personnel. The International Sales Manager - North America will serve as the principal liaison between our manufacturing representatives and other company personnel to fulfill out sales objectives.
Responsibilities
- To coordinate, monitor and support company export sales goals and objectives for applicable products and/or markets as stated in the “year plan.”
- Coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals, and advises dealers/distributors, and sales representatives concerning sales techniques.
- Analyzes sales statistics to formulate policy and to assist customer service personnel, manufacturer representatives and dealer/distributors in promoting sales of applicable product.
- Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs, volume potential, price schedules, and discount rates, and develops sales campaigns to accommodate goals of company.
- Reviews exchange rate of U.S. dollar against other currencies to insure both competitiveness and margin impact to Lochinvar
- To continuously research the competitive environment in which we operate and report noteworthy information to the VP Sales, along with recommendations for action.
- To provide the VP Sales with timely and factual information from the field or export markets on matters deserving attention. Perform other related duties as assigned by VP
Additional Responsibilities
- Assists customer service personnel in expediting correspondence, bid requests, and credit collections to properly serve the export market.
- Assists in the arrangement of shipping details such as export licenses, customer declarations, and packing, shipping and routing of product.
- Periodically conducts product sales/service training to export sales personnel, manufacturer’s representatives and dealers/distributors or other customers.
- Conducts quarterly inventory report of our independent stocking representatives to insure conformance to our program requirements and submits results to VP Sales.
- Assists marketing and technical service departments within organization to prepare manuals and technical publications related to applicable export products.
- Analyzes and controls expenditures of division to conform to budgetary requirements.
- Provides the VP Sales with timely call and/or trip reports and monthly itineraries.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Canadian experience required, Latin American experience is a plus.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
- Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
