Primary Function

As part of the plant leadership team that reports to our Director of Operations for the McBee facility, the Quality Assurance Manager develops, implements, and manages a quality control system to assure that all products manufactured by the organization meet established standards, customer specifications, production goals, and achieve superior quality and reliability levels.  The Quality Assurance Manager will also plan, implement, and monitor the activities of development, application, and maintenance of quality standards as well as manage the engineers and technicians of the quality team.


  • Develop and implement a quality production program to ensure conformity of purchased material and final products to quality standards.
  • Analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards that meet quality and reliability expectancy of finished products.
  • Revise and update the quality control manual to incorporate statistical control programs.
  • Work closely with vendors, customers, quality representatives, and company personnel to maximize product reliability and minimize costs
  • Develop and maintain a supplier quality index, utilizing statistical control programs, to assure that only high-quality vendors are retained
  • Maintain a high level of customer service by investigating and correcting issues and complaints relating to quality
  • Prepare for and represent the company during all ISO and related audits
  • Coordinate and approves all sample submissions (PPAP) of new products and engineering changes
  • Prepare all necessary reports as required by customers and staff personnel
  • Design, develop, and implement quality control training programs for all quality control staff
  • Supervise quality control team leads and workers to ensure high productivity and product integrity throughout the production cycle
  • Provide support and expertise to quality control teams

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, or related field required; Master's degree a plus
  • Minimum of 5 years of related work experience (Quality in a manufacturing environment)
  • Minimum of 4 years of supervisory/leadership experience
  • Experience with LEAN manufacturing (5S, Kaizen, ect.) and Production Systems
  • Proficiency with computers and programs, specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Mini-tab

Additional Qualifications

  • Trade Certification such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Six Sigma preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate and develop quality initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team to meet established deadlines and specifications
  • Strong working knowledge and application of Quality processes, procedures, and tools (SPC, Six Sigma, Problem Solving, Statistical Analysis and ISO)
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities
  • Expertise in geometric dimensioning and tolerance as well as mistake proof concepts and implementation
  • Expertise in disciplines approaches to problem solving such as 8D or A3
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, engineering drawings, and procedural manuals.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team to meet deadlines and goals
