Primary Function

The Electronics Engineer will work in a team of Engineers and Technicians responsible for the full cycle development and certification of water heating equipment. The Electronics Engineer will support the development, testing, test equipment and implementation of assigned projects to ensure successful implementation within an appropriate timeframe and cost. 

Responsibilities
  • Assist with water heater development, from concept to certification including hardware/software used in product development test and certification equipment, project planning, and project supervision
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve test equipment design issues and assist with more complex issues
  • Create test equipment specifications and SOW's based on requirements
  • Design and develop electronic circuitry and hardware along with test and applications software for embedded controls to meet regulatory agency requirements
  • Test all designs ensuring total performance and product success
  • Investigate problems and requirements of projects and develop plans for solutions
  • Analyze and recommend solutions to test equipment issues and challenges
  • Document all procedures for installation and maintenance for full functionality
  • Troubleshoot, test, and adjust electronic systems
  • Assist with preparing test plans, instructions, and procedures
  • Research and select components, circuitry, and topologies
  • Direct schematic captures and printed circuit board layout processes for test equipment designs
  • Participate in FMEA, DFMEA, and design reviews
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required; Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of work and/or internship experience required
  • Experience programing in LabVIEW and with designing data acquisition systems.
  • Exposure to power electronics and/or power supply design is a plus
  • Experience with designing and testing electronic controls for HVAC or appliance applications to regulating agency standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in the use of PADS pcb design software
  • Experience with communications such as RS-485, Ethernet, and Wi-Fi
  • Familiarity with SCRUM/Agile project management methodology
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and manage time efficiently
