We are currently looking for a Senior Project Engineer - New Product Development that is responsible for managing all aspects of new product development projects, small (6 months) and large (2.5 years), from design concept through production and product release.  The Senior Project Engineer will also conduct theoretical analysis on complete product design concepts.


  • Participate in industry and/or university groups
  • Perform advanced engineering tasks with no direct supervision
  • Act as lead mentor to the engineering design team in development projects throughout the entire cycle from initial concept through successful completion
  • Collaborate with others on writing patents, papers, or trade secrets
  • Manage all aspects of a complex/significant engineering project from start to finish so that it is completed on time and within budget
  • Use/apply advanced engineering principles within a particular field of specialization
  • Identify company needs/projects of value and lead brainstorming activities
  • Develop/apply engineering standards/procedures and provide advice on issues within the engineering field
  • Assist with communicating technical material to internal business units
  • Participate in functional best practices and demonstrate recognized expertise by operations
  • Develop system and documentation for specific programs that ensure products/services meet all contractual/program quality requirements
  • Conduct project meetings and prepare reports to communicate the status of the project within and beyond the team
  • May assist with coordinating projects with outside funding


  • Bachelor’s degree in related field plus 5 years of experience OR Master’s degree plus 3 years of experience OR PhD
  • 6 Sigma or FMEA experience preferred
  • Experience with CAE tools such as Solidworks, MATLAB, LabView, Minitab, EES, CFD or FEA, ANSYS
  • Regulatory experience such as ANSI, UL, or DOE (Department of Energy) Standards
  • Demonstrated expertise and accomplishments in specialized related field
  • Excellent analytical skills for reviewing costs and preparing budget reports
  • Solid understanding of company processes and customers
  • Great communication and organizational skills
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills in order to balance multiple projects within a defined schedule and budget
