Primary Function

Assist in planning production schedules for manufacture of industrial or commercial products by performing the following duties.


  1. Responsible for the creation and maintenance of Production Orders in support of master schedule utilizing ERP system (SAP) for assigned area
  2. Helps expedite inventory (raw or WIP) of materials for all production requirements, takes proactive actions to preventive shortages for the facility to achieve customer requirements
  3. Acts as a support contact with sales, manufacturing, and logistics, determining resource constraints, and developing plans to achieve customers' needs.
  4. Reviews and takes appropriate actions on MRP messages daily in support of Production needs or transfer of product between locations
  5. Follow up with production on past due production orders and determine action
  6. Interacts with appropriate Buyer and/or Vendor as needed to help drive on time deliveries in support of production
  7. Communicate schedule changes and impact of changes to appropriate manufacturing personnel and customer service
  8. Helps identify and resolve inventory discrepancies along with Inventory Control to prevent issues with material flow and improvement processes
  9. Maintenance of appropriate ERP parameters for efficient results in planning and set up of new materials from PCP as required
  10. Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.


  • Extensive hands-on experience with a computerized production planning system 
  • Professional certification by the American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS)
  • Strong computer skills, especially MS Office and internet browsers
  • Experience in SAP, Max Load, and other transportation management systems, preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work under time/date driven deadlines
  • Strong customer orientation, sense of urgency, and problem solving skills


Associate Degree in Business Management or Related Field

Years of Experience

Minimum of 3 years of related work experience or training
