This role is eligible for a remote work schedule of up to two days remote work per week. New employees are eligible to apply after successfully completing their initial 90 days of employment and training.

What You Will Do

As the Buyer, you will be responsible for purchasing through the development and maintenance of strategic supplier relationships utilizing advance procurement techniques and systems to maximize annual cost savings and efficiency. In addition, you will obtain full understanding of how vendors and their materials relates to production, receiving and shipping of completed materials.

What You Will Be Responsible For

  • Develop long term supplier agreements with strategic suppliers.
  • Ability to purchase a full range of materials and to drive annual cost savings.
  • Mentor/train/supervise less experienced employees. 
  • Fully understand commodity fundamentals and drivers of cost. 
  • Measure supplier performance in delivery and quality. 
  • Complete requests for quotes and cost analysis for supplier selection.
  • Improve inventory turns and reducing inventory through better planning and consignment processes. 
  • Measure and monitor supplier performance in areas of on time delivery, cost of poor quality, and purchase price variance.
  • Benchmark leading supply chain practitioners and develop world class practices.

What You Will Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred
  • 3+ years of related work experience or training
  • Ability to communicate effectively and proven track record of team participation success. 
  • Must be computer literate and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
