Primary Function

Perform routine inspections of water well and septic systems ensuring proper operation.  Works in collaboration with participants of realty transactions, county officials and regulatory bodies

Responsibilities

SPECIFIC DUTIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES (Listed in order of importance)

• Collect water samples from private residences and public facilities
• Visually inspects well and septic systems following Well and Septic Code Standards
• Transport water samples to processing lab
• Complete reports on water sample results and delivers to realty transaction participants
• Communicate findings of water sample results to realty transaction participants
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school or technical school education
• 2+ years septic and well experience
• Valid Driver’s License

• Master Plumber License preferred
• Pump Installers License preferred
• Certified Operator License preferred
• Communication and leadership abilities
• Excellent organizational skills
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word Processing systems

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Performance duties require standing, walking and being able to lift 100lbs. as needed
• Analytical, interpretive and critical thinking skills
• Working knowledge of state standard

ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Occasional exposure to moderate environmental variations and/or unpleasant substances. 
• May be exposed to hazardous or potentially injurious elements and conditions.
