Based out of our Ashland City, TN location, this role is eligible to participate in our remote work program, which allows employees to work remotely up to two days per week. New employees in eligible roles can apply for this program after successfully completing their initial 90 days of employment.
Primary Function
The Central Planning Supervisor is responsible for management and leadership of a growing team of Central Planners. They will serve as the escalation point for line-impacting shortages, will drive supplier corrective actions, and will be responsible for delivering inventory and operational goals as determined by the Material Planning Manager. The Central Planning Supervisor will collaborate to define Leader Standard Work across the planning organization.
Role Specific Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction to Central Planners
- Serve as escalation point-of-contact for specified production lines when material shortages are imminent
- Assist with part recovery plans and provide recommendations to operations teams
- Drive root cause analysis and develop counter measures for items needing corrective action
- Responsible for developing individual training and development plan for Central Planners
- Responsible for Inventory Metrics for product group as assigned
- Drives operational efficiency metrics related to part shortage impacts
- Actively manage vendor relationships and on-time delivery performance
- Develop and improve central planning tools and standard work
- Develops and manages good relationships with Sourcing and Operations teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Statistics, Economics, Engineering or another related discipline
- 2- 5 years’ experience in purchasing, planning, or materials
- Strong interpersonal skills & the ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people
- Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with Planning in an SAP environment
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong analytical skills
