Primary Function

The Pricing Manager is responsible for building and managing a pricing infrastructure that optimizes product profitability, new business opportunity, client retention, and competitiveness in the market.  Partner with product general managers, operational pricing owners and others across the organization to foster a proactive, continuous improvement pricing mindset.  Implement and manage pricing policies, tools, systems, metrics and performance management systems that drive ongoing performance, reinforce the pricing strategy and support overall corporate goals.  

Responsibilities
  • Manage pricing infrastructure of assigned product line(s)
  • Develop and implement well-defined pricing policies that capture critical pricing decisions, steps, owners, approval levels, and exception processes
  • Ability to establish positive relationship customers and representatives through communication and establishing trust.
  • Manage the roll out of and train/counsel colleagues on the use of pricing methods
  • Implement performance management systems to reinforce pricing strategy outcomes
  • Develop, analyze, and report on key pricing metrics
  • Implement pricing tools and systems to foster sound pricing decisions, perform analytics, track activities and report on performance
  • Manage U.S. portfolio price changes and individual client re-pricing based on profitability and claims experience
  • Collaborate with product general managers, sales, client services, marketing, product managers, operations, finance and others across the organization to set objectives and execute the development and deployment of pricing models and processes
  • Support automation through business intelligence
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of applicable work experience is needed
  • Experience in a similar environment, including price setting and profitability management
  • Experience in financial analysis, data analytics
  • High level of proficiency in MS Office applications: Advanced in Excel, Intermediate-Advanced in Access, Intermediate in PowerPoint, and Basic in Word
  • Working knowledge of SAP or other business intelligence systems is preferred
  • Fundamental understanding of pricing structures and techniques
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation and facilitation skills
  • Strong personal leadership and ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to champion projects from beginning through implementation with minimal supervision
  • A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace
  • Ability to adapt to a fast paced continually changing business and work environment while managing multiple priorities
Education
Bachelor's Degree
Preferences

 

  • 2 to 3 years supervisory experience
