Primary Function

Based at our Ashland City, Tennessee, manufacturing facility, the Project Engineer, under general supervision, will manage assigned projects from start to finish so that projects are completed on time and within budget.  Implement an established project plan; monitor progress and performance against the project plan; identify, resolve, or escalate operational problems and minimize delays.  Analyze project requirements and perform calculations.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate or participate in team activities and carry our necessary functions while providing management with the appropriate feedback to ensure that critical decisions are made in an appropriate and timely manner.
  • Coordinate the activities of outside contractors to ensure they are integrated into the project and that the organization receives satisfactory standards of service.
  • Estimate the costs, resources, and time required to complete the assigned phase of a project and monitor activities, allocate resources and assign tasks to ensure these targets are met.
  • Set priorities, allocates tasks, and coordinates project team to meet project targets. 
  • Responsible for the cost, schedule and performance of company projects/programs or subsystems of major programs.
  • Act as primary customer contact for project / program activities, leading project/program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and performance.
  • Review status of projects and budgets, manages schedules and prepares status reports.
  • Assess project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer needs.
  • Serve as a liaison between project management the project team and line management.
  • Manages assigned project team.
  • Manage customer relationships.
  • Interact with customers and manage subcontractors to complete the project.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering 
  • 2-4 years of Project Management, Engineering
  • Must have  Manufacturing or Industrial experience. 
  • Excellent analytical and Organizational skills; 
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing
