Primary Function

As a Sales Trainee, you will assist in account management as you acquire knowledge of company products and systems.


  1. Assist company sales staff with account management as they solicit business and goodwill on a regular basis from legitimate and customary sources. (Engineers, Distributors, Contractors, End-Users)
  2. Submit written activity reports on a weekly basis to appropriate Regional Manager.
  3. Submit weekly expenses envelope as needed.
  4. Acquire technical knowledge of basic hydronic heating systems, piping, venting, etc related to company products and services.
  5. Acquire knowledge regarding the basic service and start-up of company equipment and the necessary tools and instruments needed to provide this service when in the field.
  6. Research current information concerning all major construction projects in assigned territory and report to appropriate company sales staff.
  7. Gain an understanding of company internal structures, processes and pricing.
  8. Understand and demonstrate solution selling techniques.
  9. Understand and be able to deliver all “canned” sales presentations as required to internal and external customers.
  10. Dress and other wise groom himself/herself appropriately to reflect the company’s image.  Sales Representatives are the primary field contact for the customer; therefore, the company's image is reflected in the appearance of its representatives.
  11. Assist in requests by management for sales data or information in a thorough, timely and proactive manner.
  12. Proactively pursue within company policy self-improvement activities such as public speaking, product knowledge, time management, sales presentation and other such matters related to professional selling.
  13. Other requested tasks as assigned by manager.

Role Specific Responsibilities


  • High sales and technical aptitude, excellent verbal and written communication skills required. 
  • Comprehension of business conduct, sales office policy and procedures, pricing concepts and order processing methodology required. 
  • This position is a training position and will require relocation upon successful completion of the training.
  • Valid Motor Vehicle Driver’s License.
