Primary Function
Under general supervision, plan for equipment layouts and establish standards to improve industrial engineering techniques. Analyze existing industrial engineering techniques and develop recommendations for changes to working methods that will minimize costs, and time taken; increase yields and productivity; and improve the quality and consistency of final products.
Responsibilities
- Determine time studies, plant distribution (layout), times for model changes, line balancing and processes.
- Select, buy, and improve tooling and fixtures.
- Participate in new equipment release.
- Design, require and maintain inventories of manual tools, tooling and fixtures for equipment, to be used in the current process or in new product introduction.
- Systematically seek improvement in all KPI’s of productive and operational activity.
- Create and implement solutions to process’ issues continuously.
- Cost reduction projects in material or labor.
- Constantly generate and use process mappings to make them more efficient.
- Lead continuous improvement projects, using Lean Manufacturing tools.
- Participate in the introduction of new products and/or projects.
- Prepare and attend ISO audits that pertain to his/her assigned area.
Qualifications
- Industrial Engineering degree (or similar).
- English – ability to communicate fluently verbally and in writing.
- Strong proven hands on experience in Continuous Improvement implementation.
- Experience in leading process implementation projects.
- Availability to travel to sister plants (USA).
- Strong accountability and teamwork skills.
