Primary Function

APCOM's climate controlled facility in Franklin, Tennessee, manufactures electric thermostats, pipe nipples, dip tubes, elements, and burner assemblies.  The Weekend Shift Quality Technician will report to the Quality Manager and is responsible for quality related issues in the facility.

We Offer

Regularly Scheduled Hours:  Friday, Saturday, and Sunday; 6 am - 6 pm CST

 

Hourly Rate of Pay:  $23.00/hr   (Paid lunch.  Paid 4 hour shift premium if there are no tardies/absences during the week)

 

Sign On Bonus Opportunity:    $1500 ($500 after 3 months, $500 after 6 months, $500 after 12 months - must not be on a corrective action for attendance)

Responsibilities

  • Performs assigned routine tests on materials, goods in process, or finished goods where results are compared with company quality standards. Reports results to line mechanic or supervisor who will make an analysis and take necessary action.
  • Inspects visually for obvious defects.
  • Performs detailed visual inspection when necessary to determine quality of product where limits are not clearly defined. Removes defectives and places acceptable product back on line.
  • Notifies line supervisor when inspection data exceeds acceptable limits or when major incidents of poor quality are noted.
  • Records results on inspection forms or charts and reports number of defects found. Posts and maintains forms and charts of inspection data, quality levels, or special quality studies.
  • Makes recommendation on disposition of questionable product to supervisor.
  • May act as quality control department clerk, maintaining all quality records for the facility.
  • May act as scrap collector, touring the facility and removing tested and product samples from Q C inspection stations.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Must be proficient in basic mathematics including ratios, fraction and decimals
  • Must be able to read and interpret standard engineering drawings and specifications
  • Must be able to use measuring and test equipment such as carpenter’s tapes, calipers, micrometers and electronic test equipment such as multimeters with proficiency
  • Must be familiar with standard business applications such as word processor, spreadsheet and database programs
  • Must be able to read and write the English language with proficiency
