*This role is eligible for a remote work schedule of up to two days remote work per week. New employees are eligible to apply after successfully completing their initial 90 days of employment and training.
Primary Function
The Accountant II will perform a variety of activities in the preparation, examination, and interpretation of accounting and financial records, reports, and statements. The incumbent will be involved with the general ledger, budget, end closing, and other financial analyses compliant with all Company and GAAP policies.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for daily management of the fixed assets including analysis and reconciliation.
- Prepare specific lease schedules and maintain lease data base.
- Coordinate and analyze monthly maintenance and repair expenses.
- Record and reconcile intercompany payables and receivables between multiple facilities.
- Prepare and publish monthly departmental cost center reports and additional schedules.
- Provide technical accounting advise within area of expertise to functional area managers to help them understand and manage their financial responsibilities.
- Analyze and reconcile any discrepancies within the general accounting functions.
- Complete and file personal property tax returns as related to each operational location.
- Assist with the annual fiscal budget and cost roll preparation.
- Prepares journal entries, reports, and applicable GL reconciliations for month-end closing.
- Observe all procedures and policies in accordance with GAAP, company policy, and federal/state regulations.
- Perform other activities as needed or as requested.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 3+ years of related work experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents and data.
- Strong communication skills both orally and written
- Proficiency with MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience with SAP and/or Lease Query is preferred.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information and documents.
