Distribution Shipping Representative (3rd Shift)

Primary Function

To complete all functions relating to shipments and receipts of finished goods. Hours: 11:00 pm - 7:00 am, Monday - Friday, Overtime as required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all transactions necessary to ship the product perpetually and verify the accuracy of the shipment including attaining strong SAP knowledge, Transportation knowledge, frequent communication with Carriers, and communication with customers via in-person, emails, and reports.
  • Ensure that the DOT bill of lading has been generated correctly, contains the correct information, and that the appropriate copies are given to the carrier, the Traffic Department, and AOS files fully compliant with DOT requirements.
  • Maintain accurate DOT and AOS compliant records of the Order copies, serial number scan sheets, cube charts, packing lists, inspection documents, and pick sheets.
  • Coordinate inventory transfers with the Yard Drivers and auxiliary warehouse personnel. Requires generation of SAP report and issuance to all pertinent parties, monitoring of trailer flow, communication with Truck Yard and Warehouse #570 personnel.
  • Maintain communication with the Truck Yard Personnel and the Yard drivers as necessary throughout each shift.
  • Assign orders and trailers to docks throughout each shift. Maintain positive communication with the DC Lift truck Operators, resolving any discrepancies with the Load teams, explaining any special instructions, and providing info regarding other assignments.
  • Produce reports and inquiries for the Shift Supervisor and Department Manager as needed. Includes Product transfer reports, trailer reports, Live Load documentation, Export documentation.
  • Understand and adhere to all CTPAT compliance requirements including Visitor entry, management and security of Trailer Seals, quarterly Driver CDL inspections, etc…
  • Provide daily communication to LTL carriers for daily shipments.
  • Perform special projects as assigned by the Shift Supervisor.
  • Must be fully trained and capable of serving as a back-up to the shift supervisor as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree and two years of distribution or manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting numerous deadlines.
  • Capable of working in a high paced, open environment, while prioritizing workload based on company goals and direction.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • SAP knowledge and experience
  • Prior distribution or warehouse experience
  • Must have excellent communication skills with strong attention to detail
  • Must be able to cover OT and Weekend needs as they arise
