Primary Function
Responsible for supervising the physical and clerical activities related to all phases of receiving, storage and movement of raw materials. Plans, organizes, and monitors the receiving, storage, and distribution of all items received from suppliers ensuring a smooth and consistent operation so that supplies and equipment are delivered to the proper departments in an effective and efficient manner according to departmental procedures.
Must be able to work 2nd shift.
Responsibilities
- Direct the physical material handling operation of unloading, storing inbound material and movement to manufacturing departments.
- Effectively leads employees to follow all department procedures relating to material handling.
- Enforce all safety rules and maintain a safe and clean work area.
- Supervise lift truck operations and clerical personnel. Provide training and reviews performance. Assist Production & Inventory Control Manager in reviewing changes in the material flow process and revise work instructions as required.
- Direct and assist in inventory error tracking, investigation and resolution. Utilize computer system modules and department procedures to achieve inventory cycle count accuracy of 98%.
- Directs controlled stores personnel to minimize downtime in the production areas by maintaining accurate inventory levels based off of production plans.
- Provide backup to clerical staff as needed. Follow written work instructions to maintain adherence to procedure and accuracy of clerical work. Resolve record keeping discrepancies (inventory, receiving, cycle counting, bin maintenance) as required to support operations.
- Maintain computer-based payroll transactions related to hourly employees. Maintain attendance records, administer discipline as outlined in attendance policy and report perfect attendance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum two years supervisory experience
- Computer literate including SAP and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong verbal, written and analytical skills. Ability to write cost proposals, reports and procedures
- Capability of problem-solving functions as taught in AWHC Supervisor Training
