Primary Function

As the Electronics Certification Lab Manager, you will oversee our certification lab operations and manage a team of technicians. You will play a crucial role in maintaining our lab's accreditation, ensuring adherence to industry standards, and delivering high-quality certification services for electronic products. Your expertise in IEC 61000 tests, familiarity with UL requirements, and knowledge of UL 60730 will be vital to the success of this role. Additionally, you will be responsible for CE mark compliance and certification processes.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lab Management: Take full responsibility for the overall management and operation of the electronics certification lab, ensuring efficient workflow, timely completion of projects, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Staff Supervision: Lead and supervise a team of technicians, providing guidance, support, and mentoring to ensure consistent high-quality work output.
  • Lab Accreditation: Maintain lab accreditation by implementing and monitoring quality management systems, following relevant international standards, and participating in regular audits and inspections.
  • Test Planning and Execution: Develop comprehensive test plans for electronics certification projects, including IEC 61000 tests, ensuring accurate execution and documentation of results.
  • Equipment and Resources: Manage lab equipment, instruments, and resources, ensuring proper calibration, maintenance, and availability for testing purposes.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, including CE mark directives, prepare accurate test reports, and provide necessary documentation to support certification processes.
  • CE Mark Responsibilities: Oversee the CE mark compliance process, ensuring that products meet the essential requirements outlined in relevant EU directives. Collaborate with clients to navigate the CE marking process successfully.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost optimization, and technological advancements within the lab, implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Training and Development: Foster a culture of continuous learning by organizing training sessions, workshops, and knowledge sharing activities for lab personnel, keeping them updated on industry trends and advancements.
  • Safety and Quality Assurance: Uphold strict safety protocols, implement quality control measures, and enforce compliance with all applicable safety regulations and standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience, with 4 years in a supervisory role
  • Proven experience in a similar role within an electronics certification lab or related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of IEC 61000 tests and their application in the certification process.
  • Familiarity with UL requirements and experience working with UL standards, particularly UL 60730.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team of technicians.
  • Ability to maintain lab accreditation and adhere to international standards.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and enforcing safety protocols.
  • Knowledge of CE marking directives and experience with CE certification processes for electronic products is required.
