Primary Function
Performs advanced engineering tasks under supervision by a senior engineer. Provides technical leadership and guidance and assists in training less experienced engineers.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for engineering assignments requiring a broad knowledge of an engineering specialty.
- Assists with development of control specifications
- Supports engineering functions for a product or a product family from design through production.
- Testing control systems.
- Experimenting with new control systems and supporting components.
- Documenting testing and generating reports.
- Creation of schematics and wiring diagrams.
- User of CAE tools such as Altium, Pads, MATLAB, LabView, FEA.
- Develops and applies engineering standards and procedures, and provides advice on issues within the engineering field.
- Provides occasional support to manufacturing and acquires comfortable familiarity with manufacturing operations.
- Plans, conducts and coordinates engineering assignments, normally involving several smaller and less important projects or one major project.
- Participates in planning objectives and in brainstorming activities for specific needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
- 3+ years of related work experience
- Plastic injection molding experience a plus
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Communicates with other engineering functions including design, process, production, quality, and reliability.
- Basic understanding of computer programming languages
- Has a fundamental understanding of problem solving, troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Familiarity with basic test instrumentation (multimeters, oscilloscopes etc.).
- Experience with Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, etc
