This is a great opportunity for a creative, hands-on individual to work in our Water Treatment Research and Development group to develop advanced performance carbon and adsorption filter materials and filters.

Primary Function

Works with industry & universities to develop new technologies and standards.    Acts as technical leader to others within the Company. Provides technical direction to co-workers in area of expertise and ensures co-workers have technical information to make projects successful.

Responsibilities

  • Creation of new adsorption media, carbon/others, for water filtration
  • Conduct research and demonstrate feasibility of the media/filter technology
  • Work with adsorption media suppliers to develop new materials/products with differentiable water contaminant removal
  • Work with raw material suppliers to develop new formulations and process techniques to maximize adsorption media properties and product performance
  • Work with outside researchers to be aware of technology developments, recognize and recommend action when appropriate
  • Design, prototype, test to ensure products meet performance specs, standards, and compliance certifications
  • Work with operating company to design water treatment filters and filtration systems to ensure proper deployment of the technology advancement
  • Work closely with operating company to launch new products
  • Direct lab technician to conduct research and compliance testing 
  • Insure products comply with agency requirements and work with agency and standards development committees

Qualifications

  • BS in Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering or Material Science. MS or PhD preferred
  • 10 plus years of related experience
  • Experience with adsorption media development, application for water purification products.
  • Experience with lab testing per NSF/WQA standards
  • Customer focus
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Excellent communication and organization skills with ability to work both independently and as a part of a team
  • Open to travel including domestic and international

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with carbon filtration material and filter development
  • Experience with water treatment filters and filter design
