Primary Function

The Information Security Engineer is a high-level technician in the security domain and works with Information Technology staff to set and monitor security standards, best practices, and systems necessary to ensure the protection and confidentiality of informational assets.   This role focuses on vulnerability management and deployment of information security tools.

Role Specific Responsibilities

  • Architect, deploy, and manage global information security systems
  • Define security controls around infrastructure deployments
  • Review and provide global guidance on the security of internal and external systems
  • Engineer and implement security tools to improve organization's defensive posture
  • Work across on-prem, vm, and cloud infrastructures to improve security footprint
  • Work closely with global IT to define and build security tool automation.



  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, MIS or another related discipline is preferred
  • Candidates with equivalent years of related IT experience, certifications and education will also be considered
  • CISSP, GIAC, CISM, or similar security certification
  • At least 5 years equivalent work experience in information technology
  • At least 3 years experience in information security
  • At least 3 years experience with vulnerability management products


  • Demonstrated understanding of information security concepts, standards, practices, including but not limited to: firewalls, intrusion prevention and detection, TCP/IP and related protocols, device monitoring and log management, and event monitoring/reporting.
  • Strong organizational skill and be able to attend to and prioritize projects.
  • Demonstrable analytical and technical aptitude with focus on identify and alleviating the root cause of the issue.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport building, listening, and questioning skills.
  • Ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Exposure to global organizations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with all stakeholders including senior leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to write audit reports and to participate in presentations
  • Extensive application support experience with Microsoft Office and Windows.
