Scope of Responsibility

Customer expectations regarding ease of doing business have increased exponentially over the last decade. Seamless, real-time access to information and integration between vendor-customer business systems has become synonymous with digital organizational transformation. While these trends have introduced significant opportunity for operational efficiency gains, they also represent an increase in technical complexity across the business systems landscape.


We are looking for someone to join our team that will assist with the introduction of new methods for interacting with our customer base and manage the technical requirements throughout the development lifecycle. Interfacing closely with both our stakeholders and the development team, you will be responsible for ensuring the right business solution is deployed. This unique role will provide you with the opportunity to demonstrate and grow your technical capabilities while learning about our end-to-end business processes and go-to market strategy.

Role Specific Responsibilities

  • Makes recommendations for solutions or improvements to business process that can be accomplished through SAP modules.
  • Responsible for the full systems development lifecycle from requirements gathering through testing, training, and implementation of various functional architecture solutions
  • Develop a thorough understanding of A. O. Smith business processes and strategy  through collaboration with key stakeholders and process owners
  • Assist with the management of configuration and testing across the SAP environment.
  • Collaborate with other functional architects and business analysts to ensure end-to-end process integration and consistency
  • Understand non-SAP business systems and their interaction with SAP. Assist in the support and management of those systems as part of our overall solutions portfolio
  • Collaborate with the Master Data Management team to provide solutions architecture input on strategy and initiatives to support management reporting requirements
  • Responsible for completing configuration activities in SAP to support the SD processes and change requests
  • Serve as an internal consultant and design architect for SAP/technical solutions within specific process areas including, but not limited to, SD and MM (bid/quote, order entry, warranty, and pricing)
  • Interface SAP and other business systems directly with our external portal applications (SalesForce.com, custom C#/.net) to improve systems usability and process efficiency

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in IT or another related discipline is preferred.
  • Current SAP SD configuration experience is required & certification in ECC 6 SD & MM modules is preferred.
  • Previous experience with integrating portal (web based) applications to SAP and ABAP experience
  • Knowledge of SD-MM integration (MM fields impacting SD)
  • Experience in setting up and supporting Output controls (Print, Fax, Email)
  • Experience in EDI set up and coordination with EDI partners
  • Ability to design interfaces between SAP and external systems (IDOC based, flat file based, XML based).
