Primary Function

The incumbent will act as internal SAP business consultant and design architect for  complex SAP/technical solutions within a specific process area.   Work focuses on identifying and analyzing integrated business needs, conducting requirements gathering and defining scope and objectives for SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications integrated with business process/data and IT infrastructure.  

Role Specific Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the full systems development lifecycle from requirements gathering through testing, training, and implementation of various functional architecture solutions
  • Make recommendations for solutions or improvements to business process that can be accomplished through SAP modules.
  • Researches business requirements, developing detailed specifications and validating the SAP Solution with business stakeholders.
  • Communicates business stakeholder needs to the SAP development team by translating business requirements to SAP module requirements and configurations.
  • Develop a deep understanding of A. O. Smith business processes and strategy  through collaboration with key stakeholders and process owners.
  • Advise on the management of configuration and testing across the SAP environment.
  • Support the identification and implementation of process improvement opportunities that support organizational strategic vision and priorities.
  • Collaborate with other functional architects and business analysts to ensure end-to-end process integration and consistency.
  • Understand non-SAP business systems and their interaction with SAP. Assist in the support and management of those systems as part of our overall solutions portfolio
  • Provide functional support and leadership to SAP community
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field
  • SAP SD configuration experience supporting end-to-end customer experience
  • Extensive integration experience with the following modules: Materials Management, Production Planning, Logistics Execution, Warehouse Management, and Finance and Controlling
  • 3+ full lifecycle implementations including: Scoping and Planning, Process Design, Configuration, Testing, Deployment, and Post Go-Live Support
  • Experience in leading and facilitating client workshops, interviews, etc. with multiple levels of an organization in a distributed environment (participants in multiple locations)
  • Deep understanding of process integration points within SAP ERP Central Component (ECC).
