Primary Function

Working as the Product Development Program Manager, you will direct, coordinate, and exercise functional authority for the planning, organization, integration, and completion of engineering product development projects within area of assigned responsibility by performing the duties called out below or personally through others.



  • Guide and execute assignments from the Director of Product Development within a project development team in accordance with the Lochinvar Product Development System.  
  • Lead the assigned engineering team members to achieve the objectives and goals of the project. 
  • Coordinate project team activities within limitations of the established project budget.
  • Coordinate and participate in customer focus groups and training seminars during the introduction of new products.
  • Supervise assigned team staff members and provide guidance and direction where needed in matters of discipline, insuring that direct reports are performing in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.  
  • Participate with cross-functional staff in the review of marketing requests and provide departmental and product expertise that leads to practical consensus proposals for Upper Management’s consideration.
  • Perform competitive product analyses 
  • Provide leadership for the assessment and evaluation of proposed design changes, specifications, and drawing releases, and make recommendations for approval.
  • Evaluate test data & make recommendations
  • Travel to review field problems, visit vendors
  • Coordinate agency pre-testing assessments for agency certification purposes to obtain timely cost-effective agency approval.
  • Participate in the arranging of product training sessions, review of reference manuals, and other project related documents.


  • Bachelor's degree 
  • Minimum of 4 years of Supervisory/Leadership experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience with gas appliances, or gas products or  combustion engineering, or electronics controls development experience or similiar industry realted experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in project team participation or management with good leadership skills and the ability to coordinate personnel and programs and effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
