Primary Function
The Financial Analyst will perform a variety of activities in the preparation, examination, and interpretation of accounting and financial records, reports, and statements. The incumbent will be involved with the general ledger, budget, month end closing, and other financial analyses compliant with all Company and GAAP policies.
Responsibilities
- Reconciles accounts accurately and in accordance with US GAAP for two plant locations monthly. Completes journal entries as needed.
- Compile and reviews the monthly plant expense comparisons to budget and report significant variances with Plant management.
- Close and settle production orders, analyze variances, quantify impact to income statement and meet with related teams to refine process.
- Reconcile balance sheet and profit & loss to budget and communicate with operations and management.
- Reviews new material bill of materials and works to ensuring accurate standard costing.
- Leads the preparation of the monthly operations team dashboard and analysis.
- Leads the annual budgeting process for two locations, including meeting with managers and communication with Corporate finance.
- Assist with annual cost roll, including reviewing error logs throughout the year.
- Support operations team with capital project acquisition requests and capitalization processes.
- Review significant commodity inflation/deflation for purchase price variances for accuracy, documenting any current and future impact.
- Assist with audit requests from division and corporate teams.
- Helps analyze, approve and track cost improvements.
- Analyze weekly inventory adjustments to ensure responsible parties are informed and costs are accurately reported.
- Perform other activities as needed or as requested.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- 5+ years related work experience
- Work experience with accounting
- Familiarity with all applicable principles, regulations, including GAAP
- Ability to read and interpret documents and data
- Strong communication skills both orally and written
- Ability to work with cross functional teams
- Ability to drive positive change and provide process improvement recommendations
- Proficiency with MS Excel and Word and accounting software
- SAP ( or similar ERP software) experience preferred
- Manufacturing environment experience preferred
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information and documents
