Primary Function
The maintenance technician is essential to sustaining smooth, efficient production operations by ensuring equipment reliability and minimizing downtime.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on all manufacturing equipment including but not limited to auxiliary equipment and facility infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic issues on production equipment promptly to minimize downtime.
- Conduct routine inspections of machinery and equipment to identify and address potential problems before they escalate.
- Assist with the installation of new equipment and the relocation of existing machinery.
- Adhere to all safety protocol and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and reduce operational costs.
- Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and production personnel to identify and address equipment issues and implement solutions.
- Supports manufacturing teams with advanced technical knowledge and solutions.
- May need to drive between 2 locations within 20 min.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is required; Associate degree or applicable certification preferred
- Vocational school or junior technical college training in applicable technical areas
- Minimum of 5 years related work experience, assembly/manufacturing operation preferred
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to climb in overhead structures, to work beneath machines and in close quarters performing analysis and repair work
- Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Valid drivers license and can pass a motor vehicle record check
- Strong understanding of hydraulic pneumatic, electrical and mechanical systems common with industrial machines
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and work in various environmental conditions
