Primary Function

The Shipping Associate is responsible for preparing and executing daily shipping activities, including picking, packing, labeling, staging, and coordinating outbound shipments to ensure accuracy, compliance, and on-time delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize and organize daily workload
  • Prepare order detail sheets for packing
  • Pick required materials and request materials as needed
  • Pack orders according to order detail sheets
  • Coordinate with pack line lead or coordinator when quality checks are required
  • Label cartons and pallets to meet shipping requirements
  • Finalize pallet/carton wrapping and stage shipments in assigned outbound locations
  • Coordinate daily pickups with material handlers and carriers
  • Provide order details and Bills of Lading (BOLs) to the coordinator upon shipment pickup
  • Maintain continuous communication with the shipping and warehouse team
  • Verify all outgoing shipments include required documentation (BOL, commercial invoice, pack slip, placards, PRO numbers)
  • Identify when assistance is needed to avoid shipping delays
  • Utilize required safety equipment and follow safety procedures
  • Comply with all safety, quality, and procedural requirements
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of six (6) months of related work experience or training
  • SAP knowledge preferred but not required
  • Warehouse Management System (WMS) preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including overtime, weekends, or holidays
  • Customer service oriented
  • Strong time management and multitasking skills
  • Dependable and detail oriented
  • Ability to manage priorities and multiple responsibilities
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Limited exposure to dust and loud noises

Physical Requirements 

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods 
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions associated with production work 
  • Ability to safely lift and move materials as required for the position 
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds 
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance 

 

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting/standing and frequent bending and reaching.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and with assistance
  • The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds overhead and maneuver various parts weighting up to 50 lbs.
