This role is located in our modern Nashville office, located just minutes from downtown in Metro Center, with easy interstate access and free parking. 

Primary Function

As the Demand Planning Manager you will be responsible for managing and continuously improving the Sales, Inventory, & Operations Planning process by driving change through partnership with Supply Chain, Finance, Sales, and Marketing to develop the consensus sales forecast for A.O. Smith’s businesses. In addition, you will be responsible for developing the future demand planning strategy, demand planning system enhancements, and process alignment across multiple global sites promoting best practices, driving performance improvements, and developing the team. You will also be responsible for making decisions on the future business growth assumptions which are used downstream for making supply and capacity investment decisions.

Responsibilities

1.    Lead cross-functional consensus forecasting process for A.O. Smith. This includes facilitating Executive SIOP meetings and updating leadership of key forecast changes, risks, and opportunities.
2.    Build and maintain positive relationships with business partners (e.g. Sales, Marketing, Finance, Production Planning) to gain insight on sales activities, market trends, and capacity status.
3.    Manage team of Demand Planners tasked with developing, aggregating, coordinating, and rationalizing the statistical forecast with Sales, Marketing, Finance and other stakeholders.
4.    Develop stretch targets, track, and report forecast accuracy metrics to drive continuous improvement in the forecasting process at all levels of the business.
5.    Collaborate with Supply Chain Planning team to identify problems in forecast that impact short term manufacturing execution and long-term capacity planning, then implement corrective action.
6.    Clearly articulate strategic drivers and removes barriers.
7.    Provide leadership and career development opportunities to team members.
8.    Perform other activities and projects as assigned.
 

Qualifications

  • BASIC QUALIFICIATIONS:
    •    Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Economics, or equivalent experience
    •    7+ years in Demand Planning, forecasting, consulting, or global and complex supply chains
    •    Experience with S&OP process
    •    Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and cross-functional leadership skills
    •    Excellent at creating and presenting PowerPoint presentations


    ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
    •    Demand Planning & Production Planning in an SAP environment
    •    Experience with Logility software a plus
    •    APICS Certification preferred
    •    MBA preferred
    •    Strong analytical capabilities (Excel, Tableau, BI, statistical modeling, quantitative analysis)
