Primary Function

The Human Resources Supervisor will support the HR function on 1st shift at our 1,100-employee water heating manufacturing facility in Ashland City, TN.  In this role, you will be responsible to align HR objectives with the business and drive organizational value by actively partnering with site leadership to drive continuous improvement towards expected business results.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a resource and advocate for employee questions, concerns, suggestions, and needs.
  • Proactively address potential morale issues, involving the appropriate stakeholders and driving issues to closure.
  • Coach front-line supervisors through employee relations and performance management issues.
  • Work closely with HR Specialists to develop their technical and leadership skills.
  • Actively participate in the continuous improvement of site's employee engagement, employee recognition, and communication efforts.
  • Partner with operations management to help foster effective relationships and two-way communication by participating in skip-level and communication meetings.
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management or related field
  • 4+ years of related work experience
  • 2+ years of supervisory/ leadership experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to tailor message based on audience is also required.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and achieve results working with others is required.
  • Must be able to operate with a sense of urgency with demonstrated ability to identify opportunities, develop and execute action plans and evaluate the results of action plans.
  • Must have strong problem solving track record with the ability to drive to root cause.
  • Ability to get things done through others while balancing the people and culture implications of change.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to stay on top of daily issues and move projects forward in parallel.
  • PC proficient with the ability to navigate HRIS systems (SAP, Kronos, etc.)

Additional Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as top HR professional at site preferred
  • Master's in Human Resources or MBA preferred.
  • PHR and/or SPHR certification preferred.
  • Understanding of manufacturing shop floor environment and operations is preferred.
