Primary Function

As the Manager of Commercial Segment Development you will be responsible for developing and deploying a comprehensive product strategy for an assigned product line(s).  This includes product planning, managing the product throughout the product lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product visions, and integrating the work of development teams around a coherent and compelling vision for the product.

Role Specific Responsibilities

  •  Develop, deploy, update (as required), and execute a comprehensive product vison and strategy that allows the business to achieve a targeted market share and profitability.
  • Following standard process, develop 3-year product plans for the assigned product lines using input from all business functions and update the plan no less than annual or as market conditions require.
  • Using the AOSNPD process, fill the role of Project Lead to ensure new products are launched on-time and meet market and cost requirements by managing the abnormal and driving the organization to make the critical decisions on-time. 
  • Have a defined and repeatable process that actively seeks and reports-out on voice of customers/channel partners as it relates to the product plan.
  • Conduct and maintain competitive analysis and communicate to the leadership team.
  • Direct and Manage the work of the Product Managers to support the needs of the product strategy and development activities.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university preferably in Engineering or a technical field or with some significant related experience in Product Development and/or Product Management.
  • Solid business acumen and clear understanding of plumbing or HVAC industry
  • Solid technical understanding of AOS products and the certification requirements needed to deliver products to the market
  • 5+ years of related work experience
