Primiary Function: 

Press operator is responsible for learning and understanding different presses within the Press Shop. The press operator is responsible for learning and operating multiple presses and setup of steel coils. Responsible for understanding the schedule so completed orders are entered into computer system, SAP. The operator is responsible for full production rate, print labels, stack parts and completing daily paperwork. The operator must comply with all safety and quality standards which include periodic checks as outlined in the control plan, recording all checks.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Working with Team Lead/Supervisor to set schedule priorities to ensure customer needs 
  • Keep work area clean and well organized in 5S manner

Qualifications

  • Must have a strong knowledge of presses and able to operate various kinds (auto, 150 ton and 1000 ton)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be forklift certified or capable of becoming forklift certified
  • Must Have High School Diploma or GED

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to squat, stretch, and inspect dies from any angle, including on the floor or in the press
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
  • Must be able to stand/walk for entire shift
