Primary Function
The Accountant IV will perform a variety of moderately complex activities in the preparation, examination, and interpretation of accounting and financial records, reports, and statements. The incumbent will be involved with the general ledger, payroll, budget, end closing, and other financial analyses compliant with all Company and GAAP policies.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and reconciles Payroll and Fixed Asset related audit schedules.
- Print all payrolls and payroll related reports and generate all direct deposits/bank transfers for payroll.
- Generate check requests for payroll deductions and weekly 401K transfers.
- Prepare, reconcile, print and maintain all W-2 and 1099 files and payment records.
- Prepare and transmit weekly A/P ACH payments.
- Prepare and file multi state tax returns.
- Prepare specific audit schedules and assist with annual audit as required.
- Reconcile audit findings and assist in the development of new related procedures.
- Maintain the internal audit program for Sales and Accounts Payable.
- Provide research assistance as required and respond to inquiries and requests from internal and external sources.
- Assist in the training of personnel on Accounting Software.
- Provide backup in preparing daily cash reports, bank reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Assist Accounting Manager as required.
- Observe all procedures and policies in accordance with GAAP, company policy, and federal/state regulations.
- Serve as back up to all other accounting functions as needed.
- Perform other activities as needed or as requested.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ Years related work experience
- Thorough understanding of all applicable principles, regulations, and laws including GAAP, tax laws, and payroll laws
- Ability to read and interpret documents and data
- Strong communication skills both orally and written
- Proficiency with MS Excel and Word and accounting software
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information and documents
