Primary Function

Supervisor in Training will work closely with current leadership in all groups of the Materials department in preparation to assume responsibilities. Supervisor in Training will eventually be responsible for the overall safety, quality, delivery, productivity, cost, and morale of a Materials department. Accountable for meeting production and quality goals as well as process compliance while driving projects to improve quality and reduce costs.

  • Responsible for meeting internal customer demand of fabricated and purchased parts.
  • Monitor the accuracy of delivering product or point of use location.
  • Monitor the day to day activities of 25-35 employees and team leads.
  • Handle daily data entry and work with Supervisors on all payroll and performance activities.
  • Support and administer plant policies, programs, and procedures consistently and fairly.
  • Communicate effective with plant and department leadership team, employees and stakeholders.
  • Manage daily 6s, safety, inventory accuracy, and production impacts; must be able to investigate issues and perform root cause analysis based on those findings.
  • Maintain accurate records pertaining to timekeeping, attendance and production reports.
  • Motivate, coach and counsel employees to facilitate proper accountability and professional growth.
  • Supervise inventory coordinators and manage activites of our inventory accuracy levels within all department.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred, if no education, must be willing to enroll and complete college degree program

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to create a mentoring culture that promotes safety and accountability.

  • Ability to build strong relationships and achieve results working with others.

  • Operates with a sense of urgency with demonstrated ability to identify opportunities, develop and execute action plans and evaluate the results of those plans.

  • Strong problem solving skills.

  • Ability to delegate tasks while balancing the people and culture implications of change.

  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to stay on top of daily issues and move projects forward in parallel.

  • Understanding of manufacturing shop floor environment and operarions, and work closely with Assembly and Fabrication leadership.

  • Ability to make logical decisions based on good idea.

  • Experience with MS Excel, Outlook is a must.

  • Experience with SAP is highly desired.

  • Perform all other duties assigned
