Training Coordinator

Primary Function

Administers, organizes, and conducts company training programs for clerical, supervisory, technical, and production personnel. This position has limited decision-making since problems can generally be evaluated in terms of defined procedures or precedents. Work occasionally requires the employee to assess several elements and alternatives which involves minor research. Work sometimes requires the employee to modify methods and procedures or plan and establish new methods and procedures

Responsibilities

Arranges activities of instructors engaged in training employees or customers of industrial or commercial establishment. Talks with managers, instructors, or customer representatives to determine training needs. Assesses training packages, including outline, text, and handouts, both written and delivered by instructors. Coordinates with management and supervisory leaders to designate instructors for in-service or out-service training classes to learn new skills to support employee performance and development goals identified in SuccessFactors. Makes schedule for classes, based on availability of classrooms, equipment, and instructors. Assists with monitoring training budget to ensure that training costs do not exceed allocated funds. Assigns, documents, tracks and runs reports utilizing SuccessFactors. Documents, collects and packages training attendance rosters to support grant opportunities. Ensures training documents stored in ETQ are current and relevant. Attends meetings and seminars to obtain information useful to training staff and to inform management of training programs and goals. Monitors instructors during lectures and laboratory demonstrations to evaluate performance. Interprets company policy to employees and enforces company policy and practices. Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists employees in solving work problems. Performs related work as required. Will develop and conduct training programs for employees.  May recruit, hire, train staff, evaluate employee performance, and recommend promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action. Supports the HR function with projects, day-to-day activities as directed by the management team.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills via written and oral
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Outlook, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Learning Strategies—Selecting and using training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

 

Years of Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of related work experience or training
