Primary Function
The 1st Shift Production Team Lead is responsible for overseeing daily production operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and compliance with company standards. This role requires strong leadership skills to manage team performance, maintain safety protocols, and coordinate workflow to meet production goals.
Responsibilities
- Scrap Recording: Accurately track and report scrap materials to minimize waste and improve efficiency.
- Daily Schedules: Organize and communicate daily production schedules to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Quality Standards: Monitor and enforce quality standards throughout the production process.
- Policy Compliance: Hold employees accountable for adherence to all company policies and procedures.
- Pre-Shift Meetings: Conduct daily meetings to review goals, safety updates, and operational priorities.
- Audits: Perform regular audits to ensure compliance with quality and safety requirements.
- Set-Ups: Assist with machine or line setups as needed to maintain production flow.
- Workflow Management: Coordinate the flow and lineup of daily work to optimize efficiency.
- Safety Standards: Promote and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
- Shipping & Finished Goods: Oversee shipping processes and ensure accurate recording of finished goods.
- Material Ordering: Manage inventory and order materials to support production needs.
- Maintenance Work Orders: Submit and track maintenance work orders to minimize downtime.
- Continuous Improvement: Problem solving, 8 waste, 5S.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, with leadership responsibilities.
- Strong understanding of safety and quality standards in production settings.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues quickly.
- Proficient in basic computer applications and production tracking systems.
- Computer Knowledge, for example Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.

Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting/standing and frequent bending and reaching.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and with assistance
