Mold Setter (2nd or 3rd shift starting at $24.37/hour + shift premium)

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Injection Mold Setter will be responsible for the efficient and safe setup, changeover and basic troubleshooting of injection molding machines and related auxiliary equipment. This role is crucial for ensuring optimal production performance, product quality and adherence to production schedules in a fast-paced environment. 

 

We are currently hiring for 2nd shift (2:00pm - 10:30pm) and 3rd shift (10:00pm - 6:30am). Both come with shift premiums.

 

SPECIFIC DUTIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1.    Perform mold changes, shut down and start up molding machines, and make process adjustments as needed according to production schedules and specifications. 
2.    Setup and adjust Engel and Sepro robot programs and EOAT. 
3.    Install, remove and clean molds, ensuring proper alignment, clamping and connection of water lines, hot runner cables and other auxiliary equipment. 
4.    Optimize machine parameters (i.e. temperatures, pressures, cycle times, speeds) to achieve desired part quality and production efficiency.
5.    Monitor machine operations, identify and troubleshoot basic molding defects (i.e. short shots, flash, warp, splay) and implement corrective actions.
6.    Assist with material handling, including loading resin into hoppers and ensuring correct material is used for each job. 
7.    Document mold changes, process settings and production data accurately. 
8.    Adhere to all safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures and company policies.
9.    Maintain a clean and organized work area.
10.    Collaborate with production, quality and maintenance teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
11.    Train and mentor less experienced operators as needed.
12.    Other duties may be assigned as needed. 

 

We supply mold setting tooling; additional job-related training and education is supported and encouraged.

 

BASIC QUALIFICIATIONS:
•    High School Diploma or GED equivalent
•    Minimum of 3 years’ experience in injection molding manufacturing environment

 

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
•    Minimum 1 year of experience in a mold setter role (preferred, not required)
•    Proven experience with mold changes, setups and process optimization
•    Experience with Engel injection molding machines
•    Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
•    Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints and work instructions
•    Proficiency in using hand tools and measurement equipment (calipers, micrometers, etc.) 
•    Basic computer skills for data entry and machine interface
•    Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
•    Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
