QC/Material Handler (2nd shift starting at $22.55/hour + shift premium)

Primary Function

The QC/Material Handler is responsible for ensuring the quality of incoming, in-process, and outgoing materials and products while also efficiently and accurately managing the movement, storage and inventory of materials within the facility.  

Responsibilities

• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of incoming materials, components, in-process assemblies and finished goods according to established quality standards, specifications and work instructions. 
• Identify and document non-conforming materials or products, initiating corrective action requests as needed.
• Conduct first-piece, in-process, and final inspections ensuring adherence to quality control plans. 
• Maintain accurate and detailed inspection records, logs and reports.
• Assist in troubleshooting quality issues and participate in root cause analysis investigations. 
• Pick and stage materials for production orders, ensuring timely delivery to work centers.
• Accurately record incoming material information and update inventory system (SAP). 
• Safely and efficiently operate forklifts, pallet jacks and other material handling equipment to move, stack and retrieve items. 
• Store materials in designated locations, ensuring proper labeling, organization and accessibility.
• Other duties may be assigned as needed. 

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in manufacturing environment
• Forklift certification required (will provide training)
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a quality inspection and/or material handling in a manufacturing environment
• Proven experience operating a forklift and other material handling equipment
• Basic computer skills for data entry and record keeping in SAP
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 50lbs regularly
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
