Primary Function
The QC/Material Handler is responsible for ensuring the quality of incoming, in-process, and outgoing materials and products while also efficiently and accurately managing the movement, storage and inventory of materials within the facility.
Responsibilities
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections of incoming materials, components, in-process assemblies and finished goods according to established quality standards, specifications and work instructions.
- Identify and document non-conforming materials or products, initiating corrective action requests as needed.
- Conduct first-piece, in-process, and final inspections ensuring adherence to quality control plans.
- Maintain accurate and detailed inspection records, logs and reports.
- Assist in troubleshooting quality issues and participate in root cause analysis investigations.
- Pick and stage materials for production orders, ensuring timely delivery to work centers.
- Accurately record incoming material information and update inventory system (SAP).
- Safely and efficiently operate forklifts, pallet jacks and other material handling equipment to move, stack and retrieve items.
- Store materials in designated locations, ensuring proper labeling, organization and accessibility.
- Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in manufacturing environment
- Forklift certification required (will provide training)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a quality inspection and/or material handling in a manufacturing environment
- Proven experience operating a forklift and other material handling equipment
- Basic computer skills for data entry and record keeping in SAP
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 50lbs regularly
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
