Primary Function

The Accounting Analyst II will perform a variety of activities in the preparation, examination, and interpretation of accounting and financial records, reports, and statements. The incumbent will be involved with the general ledger, budget, month-end closing, and other financial analyses compliant with all Company and GAAP policies.

Responsibilities

  • Complete Month-End Closing procedures
  • Reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts accurately and in accordance with US GAAP for two plant locations monthly.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly labor analysis.
  • Compile and review the monthly plant expense comparisons to budget and report significant variances to Plant Leadership team. Help identify trends or issues and correction methods.
  • Close and settle production orders, analyze variances, quantify impact to income statement and meet with related teams to refine process and reduce future variances.
  • Support operations team with capital project acquisition requests and capitalization processes.
  • Lead in the preparation of Plant’s Budget.
  • Prepare specific audit schedules and assist with annual audit as required.
  • Reconcile audit findings and assist in the development of new related procedures.
  • Assist with the Annual Standard Cost Roll.
  • Provide research assistance as required and respond to inquiries and requests from internal and external sources.
  • Provide payroll approval.
  • Observe all procedures and policies in accordance with GAAP, company policy, and federal/state regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
  • 3+ years of related work experience or training
  • Familiarity with all applicable principles, regulations, and laws including GAAP, tax laws, and payroll laws
  • Ability to read and interpret documents and data
  • Strong communication skills both orally and written
  • Proficiency with MS Excel and Word and accounting software
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information and documents
