Primary Function

The Financial Analyst will perform a variety of cost-focused activities in the preparation, examination, and interpretation of accounting and financial records, reports, and statements. The incumbent will be involved with the general ledger, budget, month end closing, and other cost/financial analyses compliant with all Company and GAAP policies. This role is eligible for a remote work schedule of up to two days remote work per week. New employees are eligible to apply after successfully completing their initial 90 days of employment and training.

Responsibilities

  1. Compile Cost Center Reports, analyze variances and review results with Senior Management monthly.  
  2. Prepare Daily Backlog Analysis and report results to Management team.
  3. Close Production Orders, review variances with Controller and Production Manager and reconcile to Material Variance on monthly Financial Statements.
  4. Coordinate the Accounts Payable function with Division Accounts Payable team to ensure expense accounts are accurate and complete for month-end close.
  5. Prepare monthly journal entries, sales tax reports and warranty expense account analysis.
  6. Cost all new SKUs and participate in annual Cost Roll.
  7. Analyze and reconcile Variable and Fixed Overhead variances on monthly Financial Statements.
  8. Provide payroll approval for Hourly and Salaried Non-Exempt employees and prepare monthly Payroll Hour comparison.
  9. Track all Capital Request expenditures, reconcile Fixed Asset accounts, run Depreciation Reports and Reconcile all Fixed assets to the General Ledger.
  10. Reconcile Purchase Price Variance Report.
  11. Prepare Tariff Cost Savings Report and participate in other Cost Saving Projects that require financial tracking.
  12. Reconcile all Intercompany and Intracompany accounts.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree is required; accounting or another related discipline is preferred
  • A minimum of 1 year of related work experience is preferred, but we are willing to develop someone with aptitude and interest in the work
  • Work experience in accounting is preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with all applicable principles, regulations, and laws including GAAP
  • Ability to read and interpret documents and data
  • Strong communication skills both orally and written
  • Proficiency with MS Excel and Word and accounting software
  • Prior work experience using SAP is a plus
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information and documents
