Primary Function
The Assembler – Crating (2nd shift) builds wooden bases, pre-fabricated crates or boxes to be used on the assembly lines for completed products. Also crates selected service orders, show units and other specialty products by performing the following duties.
We Offer
Regularly Scheduled Hours: Monday - Thursday; 3:30 pm - 2:00 am, OT as needed
Hourly Rate of Pay: $23.05/hour plus $1/hour shift differential ($24.05/hour total)
Sign On Bonus Opportunity: $1500 ($500 after 3 months, $500 after 6 months, $500 after 12 months - must not be on a corrective action for attendance to qualify for bonus payments)

Responsibilities
- Housekeeping of work area and the wood storage area and for the proper care and cleaning of the equipment.
- Reads production schedules, drawings, and other specifications, and inspects product to determine size and shape of container and materials to be used including types of support braces.
- Lays out dimensions on materials with fixtures, ruler, measuring tape, pencil. Saws materials to size. Assembles crate parts using the pre-fab fixtures using pneumatic nail or staple guns.
- Assembles and constructs wooden bases per the production schedule.
- Build crates for service orders, and tradeshow units.
- Attaches identification labels or stencils containing such information as shipping destination, weight, and type of product contained on crate.
- Repairs broken crates.
- Counts items to be packed to ensure compliance with shipping orders.
- Following all safety policies and guidelines.
- Timely reporting of production to the leader or supervisor.
- Following all quality procedures including control of the heat treated “HT” lumber usage.
- Assisting in inventory accuracy and minimization of scrap
- Responsible for the quality and quantity or work performed
- Assisting other departments to meet the company objectives
Qualifications
- HS Diploma and 1 year of related work experience
- Basic computer knowledge and navigation is helpful. Ability to use electronic information.
- Demonstrates commitment, loyalty and positive attitude toward company values, goals, policies and practices.
- Experience and knowledge of the commercial boilers, water heaters and pool heaters a plus
- Ability to make logical decisions as to quality, customer service, time management. Good problem solving ability.
- Mechanical ability. Use of simple math and measuring tools.
- Good communication skills.
- Safety record, promotes a safe and organized work area.
- Ability to assist with other department functions.
- Must regularly lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 25 pounds; and frequently lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 50 pounds.
