Primary Function
Designs, implements and monitors a variety of human resource programs. Anticipates and plans for long-term human resource needs and trends in partnership with business management.
Responsibilities
- Lead human resources, training, comp/benefits, and payroll a at large water heating/boiler manufacturing facility in Lebanon, TN. This position currently has 1 salaried direct report and 2 indirect reports. Specific areas of responsibility to include the following:
- Align site HR objectives with the business to drive organizational value; actively partner with operational site leadership, Lochinvar leadership and corporate human resource teams to drive continuous improvement towards expected business results.
- Partner with operational leadership team to foster a culture of mutual trust and respect, maintaining the site's positive culture.
- Lead continuous improvement of production facility’s employee engagement efforts, providing consultation and recommendations to key stakeholders in the areas of talent management, employee relations, change management, performance management, wellness, and other people initiatives.
- Partner with Safety efforts to maintain a world-class safety culture, preventing lost time accidents and reducing worker's compensation costs.
- Utilize solid floor presence and other tactics to stay connected to the "pulse" of the employees; take a proactive approach towards improvement of identified opportunities.
- Lead and/or be an active team member on corporate and business unit HR strategic initiatives.
- Ensure processes and systems are in place for effective communication; maintain open and transparent lines of communication.
- Model professional/personal development with self and team; continuously works with operations leadership team to further ingrain employee development into culture.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory compliance agencies as it relates to labor, wage and hour and employment laws.
- Represent A.O. Smith appropriately in the community, seeking opportunities to maximize and reinforce A.O. Smith's reputation as the employer of choice in various regions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in related field
- 7+ years of related HR work experience
- 4+ years of supervisory/ leadership experience
- Experience working in a manufacturing/industrial environment is a must. Experience with leading and developing exempt direct reports.
- Experience leading a training team is a must.
- Demonstrated success with building trust and strong relationships with others; follows through on commitments.
- Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills: involves the right stakeholders; asks the right questions; understands the interrelationships of variables; utilizes data, analytics, and other key inputs to make decisions; anticipates the "ripple effect" of decisions to the business and people.
- Fluent with MS Office and HRIS platforms. Extensive experience in Word, Excel and PowerPoint is a must.
- Demonstrated ability to work through ambiguity, prioritizing effort and resources accordingly.
- Demonstrated ability to flex and establish balance between tactical and strategic priorities.
- Demonstrated success as project leader with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and achieve
- identified deliverables.
- Utilizes creative and entrepreneurial approach towards continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels within the organization.
- Solid project planning and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated success with getting results and adding organizational value in a fast-paced, change-oriented environment.
Additional Qualifications:
- PHR/SPHR preferred.
- Prior experience as top HR professional at site preferred.
