Primary Function

As the Senior Project Engineer, you will perform advanced engineering tasks with no direct supervision. In addition, you will lead mentor to the engineering design team in development projects throughout the entire cycle from initial concept through successful completion. 

Responsibilities

 

  • Perform advanced engineering tasks with no direct supervision
  • Act as lead mentor to the engineering design team in development projects throughout the entire cycle from initial concept through successful completion
  • Collaborate with others on writing patents, papers, or trade secrets
  • Manage all aspects of a complex and significant engineering project from start to finish so that it is completed on time and within budget
  • Use and apply advanced engineering principles within a particular field of specialization
  • Develop and apply engineering standards and procedures and provide advice on issues within the engineering field
  • Assist with communicating technical material to internal business units
  • Participate in functional best practices and demonstrate recognized expertise by operations
  • Develop system and documentation for specific programs that ensure products and services meet all contractual and program quality requirements
  • Conduct project meetings and prepare reports to communicate the status of the project within and beyond the team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of experience
  • 6 Sigma or FMEA experience preferred 
  • Demonstrated expertise and accomplishments in specialized related field
  • Experience with CAE tools such as Solidworks, MATLAB, LabView, Minitab, EES, CFD or FEA
  • Excellent analytical skills for reviewing costs and preparing budget reports
  • Great communication skills
  • Strong time management  skills
  • May assist with coordinating projects with outside funding
  • Identify Company needs and lead brainstorming activities to meet those needs
