Primary Function

Performs advanced analysis, develops work orders, and lists products with no direct supervision. Lead mentor to the engineering design team in development projects as it pertains to certification requirements.  Active member in industry and/or university groups.


  • Review applications for the permits, licenses, certificates, authorizations and other approvals that the organization needs to conduct its business activities.
  • Troubleshoot problems and address questions with third party certification agencies (UL, CSA, NSF, WQA, IAPMO, other agencies, etc.) as assigned.
  • Provide support for communications with regulatory bodies (DOE, AHRI, EPA, FTC, Air Quality Management Districts, SASO, other regulatory bodies, etc.) as needed.
  • Support and assist Engineering personnel in meeting their assigned projects and duties.
  • Maintain expert knowledge required standards and participate in new standards development.
  • Analyze data from audit reports.  Report concerns as found during auditing process.
  • Assist Labs in maintaining required certification accreditations.
  • Create certification work orders.
  • Ensure ongoing alignment from regulators and 3rd party certifiers for test data reporting requirements.

Role Specific Responsibilities

  • Organize and maintain agency files, agency correspondence, controlled documents, standards, etc. in active library.
  • Review Product Literature to confirm that it complies with requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date on pending regulatory requirements; how it will affect AOS products; and inform affected departments of dates for required changes.
  • Evaluate current processes and look for opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Bachelor's Degree in Engineering

5+ years of related work experience

OR Masters Degree in Engineering + 3 years’ experience OR PhD


Additional Qualifications:

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Able to balance & prioritize multiple projects within schedule and budget
  • Any previous participation in codes and standards committees is a plus


Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Related Field
