Primary Function

The specific job responsibilities of the position include: (i) perform competitive product analyses and conduct Project Identification meetings with Product Management and Senior Management to define the project scope and determine engineering feasibility/cost effectiveness of assigned projects and prepare project expense estimates; (ii) plan and implement engineering development programs using AOSNPD as a guide to achieve the objectives of projects; (iii) provide detailed heat pump test programs and guidance to Project Manager and assigned lab personnel in the conductance and documentation of product specific test standards; (iv) design, guide and document new products and product revisions as necessary to efficiently meet company and agency requirements; (v) prepare submittal paperwork, schedule test dates, review certifications for accuracy, and interface with agencies to obtain timely cost-effective agency approval; (vi) compile and analyze operational refrigeration test data to establish compliance with performance standards; (vii) coordinate and participate in customer focus groups and training seminars during the introduction of new products; and (viii) provide ongoing technical support for other project teams as requested.

Role Specific Responsibilities

Qualifications

The candidate must have a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, and three (3) years of product development experience, with a focus on refrigeration systems/heat pumps and electronic applications. The candidate must also have demonstrated experience with CAE tools (i.e. Solidworks, MATLAB, LabView, Minitab, EES, CFD, and FEA).
